How do I open or close a PayPal account?

There are 2 types of PayPal accounts: Personal and Business.

Here’s how to sign up for a PayPal account:

1. Go to https://www.paypal.com.
2. Select the type of account you would like to open, "Personal" or "Business."
3. Select your country.
4. Enter your email address and choose a password.
5. Click Continue.
6. Fill out the form and enter the CAPTCHA.
7. Confirm that you've read the PayPal User Agreement and click Agree and Create Account.

You can start to use your new PayPal account right away.

1. If you decide to close your PayPal account, you should withdraw your PayPal balance and then follow these steps:
2. Log in to your account.
3. Click Profile at the top of the page.
4. Click My settings.
5. Click Close account beside Account type and follow the instructions.

We might ask you to confirm that you own the account before it is closed.
