Who can open an account, and how?

To register your own NETELLER account, you must be at least 18 years old. Also, your country must be in the list of countries where NETELLER offers service - click here to see the list. Each person may only have one account.
To start the registration process, click here  (you will be taken to the NETELLER registration site). When you open your account it is important to use your REAL information, because when you want to withdraw money from NETELLER you will need to confirm your identity (i.e. send identity documents to NETELLER). The registration process is easy, but keep in mind these:
  • Remember your security question and answer, as this will be needed to make changes to your account later
  • Make sure your phone number is correct, as NETELLER will call you to verify your account

What types of NETELLER accounts are there?

Everyone who registers first gets an Express Account. Although you can use it to transfer money to and from gambling sites and send money to friends, it has many limitations. To avoid these limitations, you can apply for an Extended Account - this process is called "upgrading". These are the advantages of having an Extended Account:
  • With an Express Account, you can only deposit 2,150 EUR to your NETELLER account, but with Extended there's no such limit
  • With an Express Account, you can only deposit 100 EUR to your NETELLER account by credit card, but with Extended there's no such limit
  • You can withdraw your money from NETELLER (you can't do this with an Express Account!)
  • Increases your transaction limits
  • You can apply for NETELLER's own Net+ cards (provided by MasterCard).
"Upgrading" your account to Extended is very easy. The first step is to send scanned copies of some verification documents to NETELLER's support department in email. Two types of documents are needed: a government issued identity document (passport, driving licence or ID card) and a "confirmation of address" document (utility bill, for example). Click here to learn more about these documents. Scan and send the documents to identity@neteller.com from the email address you registered with NETELLER.
After about a week, NETELLER will send you an email. If some documents were not acceptable, they will ask you to re-send them. If all of them are accepted, the second step of the verification process begins. A NETELLER support member will call you on the phone and ask some routine questions - your date of birth, email address, answer to your security question and address. If you don't receive this phone call within one week, ask the NETELLER support team to call you at a convenient time. That's it, you have an Extended Account!
There is also a "VIP" level account above the Extended Account. If you transfer 6,000 USD to merchants (gambling sites) each month for a consecutive 90-day period, you’ll automatically become a VIP, and to maintain your VIP status you need to transfer 3,000 USD to merchants each month over a consecutive 90-day period. The advantages of becoming a VIP are: free withdrawals, a 1.5% foreign exchange fee (instead of the usual 2.5%), very high transaction limits, exclusive prizes and promotions, and dedicated account management.

What currencies can I choose for my NETELLER account?

You can select the currency of your NETELLER account during registration. You will not be able to change your account currency later, so choose it wisely - although you may ask NETELLER Support to close your account and open a new one with another currency. The currencies offered are EUR (€), GBP (£), SEK (Kr), USD ($), CAD ($), DKK (kr), NOK (kr), PLN (zł), AUD ($), HUF (Ft), JPY, INR (Rs), MXN ($), BGN (лв), EEK (kr), LTL (lt), LVL (Ls), RON (lei).
Choosing the right currency is important since NETELLER charges a foreign exchange (FX) fee on transactions involving more than one currency. This means that if your account is in EUR but you receive payment in USD, you will have to pay a 2.5% fee on the amount received. So it is best to choose the currency you use most often for your transactions.

How can I deposit money into my NETELLER account?

There are three methods available to deposit funds into your NETELLER account:
  • Credit/debit card (takes a couple of seconds only): a fee of 1.75% is charged by NETELLER for credit/debit card deposits. Only VISA or VISA Electron cards will work.
  • Local bank deposit (takes 2-5 business days): probably the cheapest deposit method. but it is available only in the UK, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Ireland, Italy, Japan and India. If you use this method, you will have to deposit money directly into NETELLER's bank account held at a local bank in one of these countries. No fee is charged by NETELLER for local bank deposits.
  • International bank transfer (takes 2-5 business days): in countries where local bank deposits are not available, you can use a regular international bank transfer. However, your bank may charge you a cross-border transfer fee. No fee is charged by NETELLER in this case. To initiate an international bank transfer deposit, do as follows:
    - Sign in to your NETELLER account
    - Ggo to the "Deposit" tab
    - Select "International Bank Transfer" and click "Make a Deposit"
    - Enter the amount you wish to deposit and click "Continue"
    - Confirm the transaction by clicking "Continue"
You will then be provided with the account number where you will have to send the amount of the deposit. NETELLER can't take your money from your bank account, so you MUST complete your deposit by paying NETELLER via online banking, telephone banking or by visiting your local bank branch. It is important to include your 12 digit NETELLER Account ID in the instructions you give to your bank.

How can I send money to gambling sites and other NETELLER users?

If you want to deposit money to poker rooms, casinos or sportsbooks (so-called "merchants", the easiest way is to visit the gambling site's cashier and initiate a transfer from there. Alternatively, you may visit NETELLER's site, click on the "Transfer" tab and select "Merchant Transfer". This option is a bit more complicated because you need to obtain a "Merchant Transfer Code" from the gambling site, so we advise you to send money to gambling sites directly from through their cashier. This type of transfer is free of charge.
If you would like to send money to other NETELLER users, you will need to select "P2P Transfer" (meaning peer-to-peer, or person-to-person transfer) from the "Transfer" tab. The fee is 1.9% of the transaction amount, but at least 1 Euro. This is payable by the recipient, not the sender, but only if the recipient accepts the money. In order to perform a peer-to-peer transaction, you will need to provide the email address of the recipient (the email address the user registered with his/her NETELLER account). You cannot make P2P transfers to and from China, Israel, Vietnam, and Turkey.
You can also use NETELLER to send money to people who don't yet have a NETELLER account - this option is called "Money Transfer". To do this, you need to enter the email address of recipient. The recipient will get an email message that they received money, and from then they have 30 days to sign up for a NETELLER account and withdraw their money (they need to use the email address to which the money was sent). If they don't open an account within 30 days, the money will be returned to the sender but this will be remove any time from Neteller. Click here for a list of countries where you can send money to anyone through Money Transfer. The fee for this type of transfer is 1% (at least 1 USD but no more than 10 USD), which is paid by the sender.

How can I withdraw money from my NETELLER account?

In order to withdraw money from your account, you will need an Extended Account (for information on upgrading to an Extended Account, see above). The following withdrawal methods are available:
  • Net+ Prepaid Card (withdrawal through ATMs) (takes place instantly)
  • Bank transfer (takes 3-5 business days)
  • Cheque (by regular mail) (takes up to 21 business days)
  • Cheque (by courier) (the time required varies by country)
To see the fees for each withdrawal method for each currency, click here. Please note, you can't withdraw to a credit card (such as VISA cards), but you can withdraw money using NETELLER's own Net+ Prepaid card through ATMs.

What are Net+ cards?

One of the best things about NETELLER is that they offer their own credit cards: the Net+ Prepaid Card (a plastic card for withdrawing money from ATMs and paying at shops worldwide) and the Net+ Virtual Card (for online purchases). Both are provided by MasterCard, so they are accepted everywhere a MasterCard credit card can be used. When you use Net+ cards, you can use the balance on your NETELLER account directly, so you don't need to "load" money onto your cards. To see the fee structure for the Net+ Prepaid and Virtual cards, click here.
When you use a Net+ Virtual card, you can generate a one-off card number for a single transaction and delete the card number once the transaction is complete. This means that even if somehow someone gets to know your Net+ Virtual card number, they won't be able to use it again.
Your Net+ Virtual card MUST be in the same currency as your NETELLER account, but you can choose the currency for the Net+ Prepaid card. However, if the currency of your NETELLER account and the currency of your Net+ Prepaid card are different, you will have to pay a foreign exchange fee of 2.95% for each transaction. At this time, Net+ cards are available in the following currencies: British Pound (GBP), US Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), Canadian Dollar (CAD), Swedish Krone (SEK), Danish Krone (DKK), Australian Dollar (AUD) and Japanese Yen (JPY).
If you would like to have a Net+ card, you need to request it at NETELLER's site. A Net+ Prepaid card usually needs around 21 business days to arrive by mail. The plastic card and the PIN code are sent in two different letters for security reasons.
To apply for a Net+ card, you will need an Extended Account. Also, Net+ cards are not available in all countries - click here for a list of countries where Net+ cards are NOT available.
